Whenever I try to build an application with Interix's GCC on Windows, this is what happens:
/tmp/grep-2.5.4-src/build$ ../configure --build=x86_64-pc-interix6
checking for a BSD-compatible install... /bin/install -c
checking whether build environment is sane... yes
checking for a thread-safe mkdir -p... ../install-sh -c -d
checking for gawk... gawk
checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... yes
checking build system type... x86_64-pc-interix6
checking host system type... x86_64-pc-interix6
checking for gawk... (cached) gawk
checking for gcc... gcc
checking for C compiler default output file name...
configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables
See `config.log' for more details.
To me it looks like the problem isn't with the compiler, but rather with the configure
file.
How can I fix it so that it works with SUA?
config.log:
This file contains any messages produced by compilers while
running configure, to aid debugging if configure makes a mistake.
It was created by GNU grep configure 2.5.4, which was
generated by GNU Autoconf 2.61. Invocation command line was
$ ../configure --build=x86_64-pc-interix6

It's looking for
cc1
as a compiler and can't find it, which is why it's failing. So it's not that the compiler can't create executables, but that it can't find it.
gcc
invokescc1
. Check your system for it, or perhaps yourPATH
.
