What is considered the 'standard' content of .gitignore file for an iPhone (Xcode) project?
PS: not sure if this needs to be a CW.

build/
.DS_Store
**/*.pbxuser
*.mode2v3
*.mode1v3
**/*.perspectivev*
This is a good start.
updated with Dave's suggestions.
You should also exclude xcworkspace
and xcuserdata
in xcode 4.2. So here is a complete list which one should ignore for iOS projects
# Exclude the build directory
build/*
# Exclude temp nibs and swap files
*~.nib
*.swp
# Exclude OS X folder attributes
.DS_Store
# Exclude user-specific XCode 3 and 4 files
*.mode1
*.mode1v3
*.mode2v3
*.perspective
*.perspectivev3
*.pbxuser
*.xcworkspace
xcuserdata
From the GitHub gitignore
project, as of today:
# Xcode
.DS_Store
build/
*.pbxuser
!default.pbxuser
*.mode1v3
!default.mode1v3
*.mode2v3
!default.mode2v3
*.perspectivev3
!default.perspectivev3
*.xcworkspace
!default.xcworkspace
xcuserdata
profile
*.moved-aside
